Managing Your Recordings: Practice and Assignment Videos

This guide covers how to review, share, and manage your recordings. Please note that the location of your videos depends on whether they are for practice or a specific assignment.

Practice Videos: Found in the My Videos section in the top navigation bar. This is your central hub for self-improvement and tracking progress.
Assignment Videos: Found in the Assignments tab. These are official submissions for a course or instructor and are kept separate from your practice sessions.

2. Managing Practice Videos

Practice videos offer full flexibility for self-evaluation.

Review: Click PLAY on any thumbnail to watch your response.
Re-record or Delete: To manage a specific take, click the Actions dropdown menu next to the video. From there, you can choose to re-record or delete the file.
Feedback & Scoring: Depending on your organization’s settings, VideoAI scores and External Review feedback (including verbal and non-verbal criteria) may appear directly next to the corresponding video.

3. VideoAI Deep Dives

If your organization has VideoAI enabled and you have recorded a response 30 seconds or longer, you will earn a performance badge (Gold, Silver, or Bronze).

Detailed Feedback: Click directly into the earned badge to open a detailed breakdown. This provides specific AI feedback on how well you performed across each individual criterion, such as eye contact, vocabulary, and pace.

Note: If your organization has not enabled VideoAI, these badges and scoring sections will not be visible in your dashboard.

4. Assignment Video Restrictions

Because Assignment videos are official submissions, they have different rules:

No Re-recording/Deletion: Once an assignment video is submitted, it cannot be re-recorded or deleted by the student.
Requesting a Reset: If you need to redo an assignment, you must contact your instructor or account administrator. Support staff cannot reset assignments without their direct approval.

You can share practice videos with mentors, coaches, or peers. There are two ways to initiate sharing:

Option 1 (Individual): Click the Actions dropdown menu next to a specific video and select Share.
Option 2 (Bulk or Single): Click the radial button on the left-hand side of one or multiple videos. A Share Now button will appear at the top of the list; click it to proceed.

The Sharing Dialog: Once you click share, a dialog box will pop up where you can:

Copy Link: Generate a unique URL to paste into a message.
Email Directly: Enter recipient email addresses and a personalized message.
Access: Recipients do not need a Big Interview account to view or review your shared videos.

6. Managing Privacy

You maintain control over your shared content.

Revoking Access: To stop sharing a video and make it private again, click the Actions dropdown menu next to the video. Adjust the sharing status to Private to immediately disable any previously sent links or email invitations.
